Stress Busters

In today’s ridiculously fast paced world, people forget to look after themselves. Rushing around all day long, not having a moment to relax and unwind. This can lead to decreased levels of health, feeling tired all the time and increasing levels of stress.

Did you know that there are many different forms of stress? For example, financial, relationship, work-related and exercise are all different forms of stress (yes even exercise is a stressor to the body!). The body cannot distinguish between different forms of stress. So all the different forms can join forces creating one stressed out individual! This is what leads to the overly common symptoms of today such as decreased energy levels, increased susceptibility to colds, illnesses, fat gain, niggling injuries and an increased recovery time getting over those colds, illnesses and injuries.

What we need to do is create a balance. If you overdo one aspect, you need to balance it with another. A prime example that I see all the time is the worker that leads a highly stressful professional life then they feel they have to go to the gym and workout until they crawl out of the door! Or a second typical example is the person who is constantly busy and cannot find any time to exercise and feels too tired to do so anyway! Sometimes slugging it out down the gym is the last thing people need. The answer is to use stress busting exercises. These are very slow, specific movements that relax, unwind and spread energy throughout the body leaving you feeling rested, clear-minded and feeling so much better.
